SRM Institute of Science and Technology, or Sri Ramaswamy Memorial Institute of Science and Technology, formerly known as SRM University, is a deemed university located in Kattankulathur, Tamil Nadu, India. It was founded in 1985 as SRM Engineering College in Kattankulathur, under University of Madras. SRM Institute of Science and Technology includes 4 campuses, 3 in Tamil Nadu— Kattankulathur, Ramapuram and Vadapalani, and one in NCR Delhi.
The institute gained deemed status during the 2003-2004 academic year and was renamed SRM Institute of Science and Technology. It became SRM University in 2006 following permission by the UGC for ‘Deemed to be Universities’ to be called ‘Universities’.In 2017 it was renamed back as SRM Institute of Science and Technology (SRMIST) following the UGC request to drop “University” from the name.
SRM Institute of Science and Technology approved by the University Grants Commission and is accredited by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). It has been given an overall A++ Grade by NAAC. Engineering programs in SRM Institute of Science and Technology are accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology.

SRM University B.Tech Application Form 2025
The authorities has started the SRM University B.Tech 2025 application in online mode at the official website. Candidates must fill out and submit the application form before the last date otherwise they will not be allowed to participate in the admission procedure. All of the required information such as personal, academic, and contact details has to be provided in the IPU B.Tech application form.

Step 1:
SRM University B.Tech 2025 Registration – In the first step, candidates have to complete the registration process by entering the details like program group, program name, name, mobile number, email id, and more. Upon successful registration, credentials will be shared with the registered email ID and contact number.
Step 2:
Filling the SRM University B.Tech application form – Using the credentials, candidates have to log into the account and click on “Fill Application Form”. All of the required details such as personal details, qualification details, and program details had to be entered.

Uploading documents – In the next step, candidates will have to upload the photograph and signature in the specified format.

Payment of application fee- After uploading the documents, candidates have to click on the “Preview” tab to review all the entered details. Click on the submit button. Once the application will be submitted successfully, candidates other than exempted categories will be automatically redirected to Online Payment Gateway i.e., via Debit Card, Credit Card, or Internet Banking. A payment had to be made after which a printout of the generated payment acknowledgment slip could be taken.
SRM University B.Tech 2025 Exam Centres (Only for B.Tech Biotechnology)
The exam centres of SRM University B.Tech 2025 consist of the venues where the examination will be conducted. The list of SRM University B.Tech Biotechnology exam centers will be available on the official website. Since the examination will be held only for the Biotechnology course, the exam centers will be valid for only this exam. While filling out the application form, the candidates had to fill in their choice of exam centers. Details about the SRM University exam centers will be available on the admit card.
